Eric Kaiser, Sr. Account Manager

Eric is a Sr. Account Manager with Clearpoint Technology, and has worked for the company for over 10 years.

Q: How has the recruiting and staffing industry changed over the last 10 years?

A: The internet and technology has helped the business become more and more streamlined and faster than it used to be. I'm proud that we at Clearpoint have maintained the "personal touch" even with all of the new technology available.

Q: What is the biggest misconception about the recruiting industry?

A: I think it is that we are all the same, and I feel I have to continually work to show new clients that we are not your ordinary staffing agency but truly are extraordinary. We really do care at Clearpoint and it's not "just another placement" for us. We are personally invested in seeing a win-win for our clients and candidates.

Q: What is the #1 advice you give to hiring managers today?

A: Move quickly. Speed of the market in Houston, TX has really changed over the last year to a candidate driven market. I always encourage them to hire quickly before they lose top talent that they love.

Q: What are the most requested tech skills in 2013?

A: We've placed a lot of developers for Microsoft products, SharePoint, .NET. We are also seeing a growing trend in hiring for infrastructure jobs.

Q: What trends have you observed in 2013 for hiring?

A: I've seen a 50/50 split between perm hiring and contract hiring. Last year was heavier with perm hiring. It will be interesting to see how companies respond to the new healthcare laws regarding hiring perm versus contract in 2014.

Q: What is something unique that perhaps your clients and contract employees don't know about you?

A: I'm a family man, I like to fish (salt-water, primarily wade fishing), and I'm grounded in my faith. Being Catholic has helped form me and is my foundation for everything I do in work and in my personal life.

Q: You've had such longevity with Clearpoint, is there any insight you can share about your experience with the company?

A: Since I've been here, I've seen the company grow and go through changes. We've gone through the change from being a small mom-and-pop to a well-oiled machine. It's been exciting to be a part of the growth from a 6-person shop to a 17-person shop. I look forward to continuing to be a part of the team for years to come.

Q: What are your goals in 2014 or in the years to come?

A: I just want to continue to grow the business as I have been over the years. Each year presents a new challenge, and really each day is different in this job. I have to say that's what I really love about it!
