TITLE: Risk/Quantitative Compliance Analyst

LOCATION: Downtown / Hybrid

TYPE: Contract/Contract-to-Hire/Permanent

SALARY: $90,000 - $110,000

The Risk/Quantitative Compliance Analyst will actively monitor regulatory and risk mitigation activities and ensure that the controls in place are up to date, adapted, and appropriate to the activity and the current regulatory practices.

- Ensure that trading operations comply with both financial and physical regulations, notably CFTC, FERC,EIA, ERCOT, PUCT;
- Follow-up and report the trading activities in a timely manner to the regulators, ensuring the information has been received by them correctly;
- Provide and solve any operational request asked by the different National Regulation Authority (NRA’s);
- Report any breach in the daily compliance processes to the Operational Compliance Manager;
- Deal with the daily compliance issues and direct them when appropriate to existing channels for investigation and resolution;
- Maintain appropriate documentation, records and reports for review by the Auditors and Regulators
- Support the continual review and improvement of operational procedures and compliance framework by identifying potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk, developing and implementing corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues, and lead various projects in collaboration with other departments to develop compliance tools and ensure its implementation in the business
- Update existing and create new innovative processes using Business Intelligence Tool
- Support the global team as needed, including assisting with European and Asian reporting processes (EMIR, REMIT, MIFID II, MAS, ASIC).

- 7+ years of Risk/Quantitative Compliance Analyst experience
- Work with both financial and non-financial sides of the business
- Excellent oral, presentation and written communication skills with the ability to apply these skills at all levels of the organization.

- Practical experience in Energy and Trading business preferred
- Knowledge of and experience with regulations and rules covering natural gas trading activities, including NYMEX, FERC and CFTC rules and regulations, with particular emphasis on compliance, control and legal matters.
- Eager to question and discuss views and ideas
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to model and automate business processes
- Comprehensive understanding of risk management methodologies
- High levels of numeracy and computer literacy: ability to use Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Alteryx, and knowledge of programming (Python, C#, DAX)
- High degree of accuracy and ability to work under pressure under daily deadlines

- Bachelors degree in Engineering/Economics/Finance/Business/Mathematics or Quantitative discipline
- Masters Degree – Science (MSc) or Engineering (MEng) preferred
