TITLE: Business Analyst | Python

CLIENT: Energy Company

LOCATION: Houston, Texas (downtown)

TYPE: Contract (Hybrid)

RATE: $50-60/hour DOE


SUMMARY:
• Business Analyst must monitor effectiveness of business processes, conduct analysis, make recommendations, and coordinate implementation for optimization campaign
• Coordinate process and performance improvements resulting in timely and correct completion of customer issues
• Manage corporate performance metrics, and corporate strategy leveraging skills and knowledge to effectively address and resolve issues across multiple functional groups
• Work to compile and assess data metrics for performance management team, sales marketing, and business development campaigns
• Support marketing efforts in segment, product developments, digital, marketing, and financial planning analysis


DUTIES:
• Actively support business units to drive the effective selection, development, implementation and integration of analytics and KPIs to optimize business activities and make meaningful business intelligence/reporting possible.
• Monitors key operational metrics and responds as necessary to ensure consistently superior operational performance.
• Oversee development of reporting dashboards and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Propose strategic recommendations that will enhance business value and drive performance improvement related to financial and operational metrics – customer count, acquisition, retention, and EBITDA
• Facilitates leadership and executive performance review meetings to drive actionable outcomes to hold the organization accountable to their growth objectives.
• Identify opportunities for improvement and engage in cross-functional initiatives to drive improved performance.
• Maintain all weekly/monthly key performance indicator and financial analysis data/reports.
• Create models, conduct research, and analyze actual business unit performance against targets in the operating, strategic, sales plans as applicable

REQUIREMENTS:
• 3+ years’ work experience in an analytical, strategic planning, or project management role
• Must have experience in performance reporting, analyzing data and processes.
• Must be able to think critically and problem solve.
• Experience working with Tableau, SpotFire, Power BI
• Experience in the development of metrics, KPI’s and overall business intelligence architecture.
• Excellent verbal and written communication/presentation skills
• Proficiency with Pivot tables, and VBA Macro programming preferred.
• Proficiency with SQL (SQL Server/Oracle) is highly preferred.
• Experience with one programming language such as Python or R is a big plus.
• Comfort with ambiguity; ability to work with incomplete data or seemingly open-ended questions and translate into actionable analysis.
• Must be a proven self-starter—high integrity, energy, enthusiasm, and tenacity.


EDUCATION:
• Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, marketing, or finance field – Master’s degree preferred
