SUMMARY:

We are seeking an Applications Development Manager to lead a Team of Full-Stack Developers.

The technology stack is C# .Net Core; Angular; AKS Azure Kubernetes; SQL Server; Azure Cloud environment.

This App Dev Manager would be reporting directly to the IT VP of the organization.


DUTIES:

• Manage overall development cycle utilizing Scrum and Agile methodology
• Work closely with the developers to architect and develop the best technical design and approach
• Work closely with Product Owners to prioritize feature development
• Focus is on the constant improvement of quality, speed and ensuring the team learns and gets better each sprint.
• Provide team leadership towards the completion of development activities on-schedule within budget and per quality expectations
• Oversee activity of staff to ensure that production problems are resolved quickly, ensuring continued accurate system operations. At the team level, meet service level agreements for production support response and resolution.
• Conduct and coordinate personnel-related activities such as identification of resource needs; evaluation, selection, development and retention of staff, incl. mentoring and discipline.
• Participate in the definition and the delivery of the strategic and tactical goals of the Application Development group
• Lead IT product strategy, programs and initiatives which supports the medium- and long-term goals of the Business Unit.
• Proactively work with associated IT Business Partner to develop and maintain a product solutions roadmap and backlog which includes short term tactical and longer-term strategic solutions. Participate in the review the product plans with internal stakeholders on a frequent and regular basis.
• Collaboratively work with business units to identify and define business challenges and assist in the development of workable IT solutions to achieve business objectives.
• Proactively work with associated IT Business Partner to define business opportunities & manage the development of actionable solutions.
• Partner with key stakeholders to understand and document requirements.
• Collaborate with IT Support, monitor system stabilization and be the focal during any outages.
• Actively take ownership of all systems required for the business unit to operate.
• Enforce monitoring on all systems and processes to ensure 99.999% uptime goal.
• Establish and maintain good relationships with internal and external stakeholders and establish an environment of honesty, trust, and reliability.
• Define processes, operating procedures, & metrics, along with refining & implement procedures and policies
• Engage & motivate associates with effective communication to promote a high performing team.
• Follow best practices for release management with formal acceptance of new systems features, go
o-go decision reviews and effective communication during and post-product releases.
• Coordinate and manage all deployments through internal approval processes.
• Provide technical expertise through the execution of presentations and demos to internal clients.
• Develop skills & competencies based on current and projected technical requirements.
• Encourage development of self and staff on the latest technologies.
• Encourage innovation within the application development team.



REQUIREMENTS:

• 5+ years managing an Application Development team
• Familiar with helping to develop a work breakdown structure
• Comfortable presenting to upper management
• Comfortable with working with end state users
• Worked in an Agile style work environment
• Prior technical experience working as a developer utilizing the following tools:
o C#.Net
o .Net Core
o Microsoft or Oracle SQL Server
o Azure
o Azure DevOps
o Angular
• Experience developing or managing developers in Azure
Nice to haves
• Azure Kubernetes Services (AKS)
• Experience developing and or maintaining CI/CD pipelines

EDUCATION:

• Bachelors Degree minimum in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant degree from an esteemed university preferred. Equivalent work experience will be considered.
