A thorough background and drug screening will be performed.JOB SUMMARYIT Technicians provide first-tier field support to customer premises equipment in client’s 7x24 environment. The demands of IT responsibility require that this employee thoroughly understand and accept the mission critical nature of the IT Division.REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE- 4+ years experience as a Field Techician to include experience with the following:• Central Office• Cisco Data networks• Router & Server configuration• PC, Domain, and Desktop knowledge• Application support• MS Word & Excel - Good working knowledge of both voice (Nortel) and data networks (Cisco / Dell)- Good understanding of infrastructure, ability to understand the client’s legacy infrastructure, as well as next generation solutions- Ability to utilize available resources to resolve issues in the field- Radio/RF/Microwave experience is a BIG plusFUNCTIONAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE- Good communication skills, and the ability to work with others professionally under all working conditions- Good Time Management skills- Self Motivated and require minimum direction- Must be detail-oriented and possess superior multi-tasking skills- Must like challenges and be able to adjust to numerous changes and can accommodate several week-long, out-of-town trips per year- Telcom experience a plus. This is not a telephone field tech, it is more IT related.JOB DUTIES- Field support calls and identify client problem. Identify solution and know proper escalation.- Everything from running cable, building server cabinets, configuration of routers & servers- Support and maintain Dell & Cisco Data products and Nortel Voice products at all locations.- Report all activity to the Command Center, covering shifts in Command Center when needed.- Support Office Administrative Systems- Follow all communication procedures (Radios, Phones).- Work with Administrators on projects.- Work with Vendors to correct issues.REQUIRED POLICIES:- Participate in an 8 week 7X24X365 scheduling rotation which includes after hour, weekend, and holiday work once hired and trained. - Follow Vehicle and all other IT policies.- Take all necessary Network provided Training.- Attend Industry Conferences as needed.- Travel around Houston is required, take-home company vehicle is providedJOB TYPE- Contract-to-hire, 3 months- Start date: July 2009PAY & BENEFITS- Approximately $23 to 28/hr, 50 to 55K salary- Clearpoint contract employees can become eligible for medical insurance (PPO), vision insurance, a 401(k) retirement plan with company matching funds, and profit sharing.- Health, vision, dental insurance: 100% employee premium paid by client.- Take home vehicle, tools and training provided.- Great retirement plan!
