Description: ABOUT OUR CLIENT- International exploration and production company- Centrally located in Houston, TXJOB SUMMARYProcess requisitions, purchase orders, and contracts for materials and services in accordance with Procurement department’s policies and procedures.REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE- 7+ years experience purchasing oilfield equipment and services - Knowledge of drilling and production operations- Working knowledge of business and contract law- Working knowledge of maritime, Louisiana and Texas law- Strong contract language writing and comprehension skillsJOB DUTIES- Interact regularly with contractors, vendors, attorneys, technical personnel and management in the preparation, processing, negotiation, and execution of contracts and purchase orders.- Receive and review contract requests to determine bidding requirements and appropriate ordering documents and methods.- Prepare bid invitations and conduct bidding.- Evaluate bid proposals and recommend/determine winning bid.- Prepare and process contracts and purchase orders.- Assist in draft and preparation of contract provisions.- Receive, review, discuss, negotiate, and process contract prices, terms, conditions, and changes requested by contractors.- Review contracts proposed by contractors and vendors.- Monitor market conditions for changes in prices and availability.- Schedule shipments and inspections.- Assist the Procurement Manager and Sourcing Supervisor in the development of Procurement forms and procedures.- Counsel company personnel on Procurement procedures and contract matters.- Enter and manage the Procurement data in the integrated procurement system.- Generate reports as required by Procurement Manager and Sourcing Supervisor.EDUCATION REQUIREMENTSDegree in Business Administration or equivalent experienceJOB TYPE- Contract-to-hire- Start date: 03/01/10 PAY & BENEFITS- Hourly pay rate: $42 to 47 / hour for contract term - Salary range: $80 to 90K upon direct hire conversion - Clearpoint contract employees can become eligible for medical insurance (PPO), vision insurance, a 401(k) retirement plan with company matching funds, and profit sharing.- Full company benefit upon direct hire conversion
